Membership Committee
- Goals
- The Committee will target certain groups of attorneys who have not been targeted previously and who are likely to practice administrative law. This would include city attorneys, lawyer-legislators, and lawyers who work for major corporations (the Chamber of Commerce or Development Board should have a list of corporations).
- The Committee will also target groups of non-lawyers who would be interested but have not been approached yet. This includes county treasurers (we have contacted auditors and assessors), tax collectors, the Municipal Association, and the Association of Counties.
- The Committee will schedule an annual membership drive.
- Announce the membership drive on E-Blast, which is sent to all lawyers signed up to receive it and is available on the S.C. Bar website; also send fliers announcing the membership drive to the non-lawyer organizations and people listed above.
- Provide an incentive for someone to become a member:
(a) Members get preference to attend the annual seminar (because SCAARLA had to turn away people last year, this is an incentive to become a member rather than just signing up for the seminar).
